Achievements 2011: Were we successful?

The Age of Light is upon us

 
It happens every 12 months.  It's the end of the year, and 2011  got used up pretty quickly, didn't it?   
In looking back it is natural to ask what we achieved --whether it be articles written, books published,  service to others, for personal satisfaction,  entertainment, discussion or persuasive argument.  No matter.
  One might be tempted to procrastinate and reserve judgment until January 1st, but no,  at Incoming Bytes we profess to be  fearless  with an eye open to improvement.  Constant re-evaluation  and questioning is the name of the game. 
During 2011 we touched on many things.

• Was the reader encouraged to pursue further action, pursue life pro actively in their own environment --and face serious issues head-on?  

• Were novice writers encouraged to at least study 'Terms of Service'  and think carefully before submitting their valuable work the rapidly-changing world of  word mills?  

• Did anyone think twice about the endangered sea turtles of Costa Rica?  

• Have any unhappy couples concerned themselves with the need for a quantum change in their own, and  society's collective  lax  attitude toward abusive relationships?

• Has anyone recognized the tendency of the west to promote the proliferation of Democracy in the middle East countries for economic benefit, while diminishing it's worth at home with increasingly-repressive legislation put forth under the guise of 'national security' ?

• Did anyone read 'Occupy this'  twice  and wonder why bureaucracy worldwide, but especially in North America, is in such a hurry to shut down reasonable protest by ordinary  people trying to better our world.

• How about the political gamesmanship with the Keystone Pipeline,  and rejection  of the Kyoto accord by both the US and Canada  in preference for dirty oil of the Athabasca oil sands to feed yet more wealth to powerful international petroleum companies?

• Was anyone convinced we should be asking VERY  pointed questions about the very future of energy itself when CLEAN ENERGY is already  being produced with the new technology of the  Rossi E-cat,   Apparently our politicians are not paying attention. Read this again and weep. 

• Why is the nuclear energy sector still planning to build more nukes after the nuclear disasters in Fukushima, Japan and Chernobyl?  Have any of our readers been convinced it is time to encourage our leaders to   declare war on nuclear power?

• How many snowmobile enthusiasts will have saved their own lives by reading  about one aspect of their   'sport',  the  exciting, but  dangerous and foolish practice of  'Snowmobile high-marking' which, all too often, causes fatal avalanches?   
• *We fondly hope that article and this reminder will save even ONE life this year and many more in years to come.

*We believe that if we have adequately convinced even ONE  snowmobile enthusiast  to avoid 'high-marking' and their understanding of the danger saves ONE life--we will have succeeded. 
  At Incoming Bytes we ask:  

1. How can we continue to improve our own lives? 
2. How can we begin improving society by quantum leaps? 
3. How can we encourage  society to entertain complete change, endorse clean energy, and create a kinder, gentler society that is responsible and sustainable?
4. How can we encourage civilization to allow the Age of Light to begin? An age of  intelligent social construction,  common sense, logic, protracted thought, and cooperation?

 Perhaps  that's a little much to ask of our greedy, profit-oriented, power-hungry,  hedonistic, selfish, arrogant and stiff-necked retail-blinded shopping society so soon.  
No matter. We shall persist. 
  Back to the original question.  Have we persuaded even one person such a quantum change is necessary?   I believe so. That is only one of many worthy achievements.
  It seems to me it's logical to  continue to stay on track, stay informed, use common sense, and explore the mundane, the unknown, the interesting, the challenging,  and the universe itself-- with open minds.  

For 2012:
Let us challenge wrongs and insist upon change with conscience; 
Let us not shirk our duty to ourselves and humanity ; 
Let us continue facing the future and building it better--  for with faith and perseverance, we CAN do it.
The Age of Light is upon us.

Keystone Pipeline : DEAD, or just more DECEPTION about Dirty Oil?

The greatest energy source known  to mankind

I always find it interesting to see how 'International Relations' are affected when there is a hidden agenda. The  American  'DELAY' of the Keystone pipeline is a fine example of a political decision that was made for reasons that have nothing to do with oil, but manipulation and political  'control'.  

Canada's response? MORE  posturing.  "We'll  build a pipeline to the west coast in British Columbia and sell the oil to China and other Asian markets instead". China would love it, regardless of the cesspool of pollution it will leave in Northern Canada. 
The reciprocal American response?  Crocodile tears.  "Oh, we hope you wouldn't do that".  
Why? 
Canadians and Americans both know that the Athabasca Oil Sands projects are the biggest source of pollution in North America. No refineries will be built in Canada.  
The Keystone oil pipeline, which will pipe dirty crude oil all the way from the Athabasca tar sands to Texas refineries is already being built.  Imagine that. 
At Incoming Bytes we have no illusion that the multi-billion-dollar pipeline will 'terminate' at the 'border'.  Let us be realistic.  Canada already supplies some 2 million barrels of oil per day to American markets.


Where does that leave the 'decision' ?   The fact is, it's parked in 'limbo' while the political benefits are being coolly calculated;  Canada's |Prime |Minister Stephen Harper will benefit politically by "saving" the Keystone pipeline, getting the 'delay' reversed,  and |President Barack Obama will benefit by playing the political game of satisfying environmental critics, while simultaneously delaying development of the Bakken.  Everybody wins by playing the game--except the native population of Athabasca.
Clearly approving the pipeline  'in the next few days'  at least,  is not a beneficial political decision. The United States of America has it's own Bakken oil deposits which are untouched--and hold more oil than Saudi Arabia, and more oil than Athabasca. 
  Why has the Bakken not been developed?  The fact is, nobody in the USA  wants to appear responsible for developing an unprecedented   environmental mess in the United States. It is much more attractive to  well-heeled  NIMBY's  to leave a cesspool of permanent pollution in Northern Canada instead.

How simple. The Keystone delay  won't hurt the historical Canadian/American relationship for long --a calculated deception,  with the economy in such tough straits, we estimate a reversal in a few weeks, or maybe a month or two.  January sounds about right. Everybody gets a big political Christmas present when the 'decision' is somehow magically reversed.  Joy to the world and all that.

   I guess they just don't get it.  Nobody has the moral right to create an irreversible ecological disaster, regardless of where it is.  


Meantime, the same politicians in  North America are collectively missing out on the greatest opportunity the world has ever seen; -the opportunity to develop clean, endless,  alternative energy --which already exists. Look up.

Is North America Being Integrated Without Permission?

     Now that the dust has settled,  the Canadian election is finished and delegated to the media back-burners in favour of other more exciting events. The latest annual flooding of  Manitoba and parts of Quebec  are complete with army call-outs for assistance --a new Federal  incentive at Provincial equalization  with Toronto's famous three inch snowstorm, so the majority Feds can  now happily claim equal helpfulness to all  Canadians  and confidently proceed with the progressive agenda on their books.  Everybody knows the publicized part, disposal of the long gun registry, another budget,  the same budget,  spend this,  yada yada.  
    But is the greater percentage of government agenda conducted openly or in secrecy? 
 Readers of Incoming Bytes  are  encouraged to think for themselves  as always, bearing in mind  "Ask the right questions, and you shall be told the right and most convenient  lies". 


     Shall we be thankful for the long-standing tradition of secret  governance?   Rightfully or not,  with inherent skepticism we believe  it's mostly secret.  Have no fear,  it's  just a matter of time,  ordinary folk will learn collectively what is to be done with us  reprobates and old codgers sooner or later, --perhaps even to rue the day a majority government was awarded.  For the forgetful, that was May 2nd.   
No matter.  It's already historical stuff, write it down, stick it on the refrigerator.


  Which other curious ongoing shenanigans  will become historical data,  to be revealed 50 years from now? 
   As we keep repeating,  the truth always comes out one way or the other, it's on the refrigerator in a sticky-note too,  --you can count on it, --but how can you do your part to  "help" the truth come out?


     Here's a hint;  Line up for Poutine or coffee at Timmy's.  Watch the body language of the politician in the line front of you,  if only for a few brief  moments of entertainment, --as you ask a pointed question loudly. 


   Try Question "A" :   "Is North America being integrated without our permission? "  The sudden  hush in the doughnut shop will astound you.
     Answer:   "That's a big question, um, oh, make that a double-double,  thanks--and a cinnamon doughnut, er, thanks,   I'm glad you asked that question,  yes, two sugars, ", blah blah...the perimeter security zone...blah blah, make that a chocolate  dip instead.....the correlated defense and security protocols, the confusing energy policy, we're working hard on that one,  the Keystone pipeline,   blah blah...pretty boring stuff.   How about Free trade ----that only applies to BIG business, --oh, did  Brian  forget to tell you that?  We wanted to tell you, but the members "opposite" didn't like that"....blah blah 
     Isn't  the Canadian-US border disappearing?    Where did you get that idea?  It wasn't very visible in the first place, but you still have to cough up  $ 87.00  on your credit card for a passport, yet another form of identification required,  No cash accepted.  Pay and go, You get the idea. Big business. Big government.  Big body language.


     Let us imagine what the real answer to question "A" might be instead,  it doesn't matter if the supposition is correct or not, it only matters that the reader's mind is actively seeking out all amusing truths  and other likely  probabilities.


    Real Integration involves all Americans lining up at the border and signing up to join Canada immediately when  1  US buck = 1 centavo = 1 Loonie.   We can't wait to see what the new North American "Centavo-loony-buck "   looks like  as it's integrated in celebration,  the sovereignty of three nations going down the pipe as slick as a burrito with sour cream.   "Mission accomplished", a revered Bushism,  comes home to roost.   
  "Queue up-alignez-vous " in multi-cultural Brit colony terms might be a handy term to remember and  understand while you stand in line  trying to join the Secret Governance Department in Ottawa.  It would also be helpful to  wear a " I voted Republican, Dude "  Tee-shirt.   
  If you happen to be applying at the Quebec border, as you're standing at the official counter, just nonchalantly mutter the words:         " Oui,, monsieur,  alignez-vous,  I got it, y'all " ,   which  can help you get an instant translator's  job in the Language Police division of  Quebec's department of Language Advancement .
    
By the way even with Gilles out- of- sorts  and even further out-of-office  with the results of the  last election, (May 2nd, remember?), you still  have to know  who Gilles is.   The bureaucrats might still  secretly want him  to be King of the new Integrated Quebec, although to the uninformed,   it looks like Jack already beat him to it.   That could be problematic secrecy at work yet again.  


WE don't know if Obama applied or not,  since he was so busy filling out the long-form birth certificate demanded by The Donald. 
  That kind of specialized electoral knowledge always  complicates the issues, especially with all of the orange signs Jack  has to get rid of and the extra forms you'll  have to fill out,  but, stand strong,  that's the very kind of stuff you need to know if you want to join Canada and get free Universal Health care, integrated without permission or not. 


As for a job,  there's full employment for all,  don't forget to apply in person at Timmy's too, before  it's integrated with Krispy Kreme on National Double-Double Doughnut- Taco  Day on June 5th.
